The Nobel Prize Dialogues are conversation-focused, one-day meetings that seek to deepen the dialogue between the research community and the rest of society on topics of global concern. Each meeting brings together a mix of Nobel Prize laureates and local and international experts. This Nobel Prize Dialogue Singapore will provide a rare opportunity to bridge the gap between generations, through conversations with global thought leaders to explore how to avoid the mistakes of the past and how best to promote humanity’s wellbeing in the future.
Confirmed Nobel Prize laureates are currently: Steven Chu, physics laureate 1997; Angus Deaton, economic sciences laureate 2015; Esther Duflo, economic sciences 2019; May-Britt Moser, medicine laureate 2014; Paul Romer, economic sciences laureate 2018.
About Nobel Prize Dialogue Singapore 2022
Theme
‘The Future We Want Together’: Six themed discussions, each comprising 10-12 students and one Nobel Prize laureate, will be held virtually between June and mid-July. The themes are: education, climate change, health, happiness, economic well being, and digital wellbeing.
Participants
From these sessions, a total of 12 students (aged from 15 to 35) will be selected to be part of the discussions held in person with Nobel Prize laureates and global thought-leaders on Tuesday 13 September 2022 at the Stamford Ballroom, Raffles City Convention Centre, Singapore.
Of the 12 students, those from overseas will each receive a travel grant of SGD 1000 to attend the event. The remaining participants from the virtual sessions may be invited to be part of the audience in Singapore.
