On November 24, the Hanoi University of Science and Technology Alumni Chapter in the United Kingdom was officially inaugurated in London, marking a significant milestone for the development of the University's Alumni Association. The chapter, established on October 15 this year in celebration of the 67th anniversary of the university's founding, serves as a dedicated platform for alumni based in the UK to foster connections, share ideas, and delve into opportunities for collaboration and growth.

Associate Professor Pham Minh Son, President of the HUST UK Alumni Chapter, a lecturer at Imperial College London and a former student of K45 Hanoi Polytechnic, emphasized the Chapter's role in fostering unity among alumni and contributing to the University with the essence of OneHUST. With over 20 individuals, including scientists and businessmen specializing in different fields such as Information Technology, Materials, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, and Telecommunications, the Chapter boasts a diverse and accomplished group.

“I really appreciate the dedication of the alumni here to the University,” Associate Professor. Huynh Quyet Thang, President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology shared at the Launching Ceremony. He expressed the hope that the UK Alumni Chapter, with its core of scientists and researchers from major UK universities and organizations, would actively engage in collaborative research with the University, co-supervise graduate students, and exchange knowledge and latest research results with Vietnamese researchers through international seminars and conferences.

The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son, former President of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, and Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long, Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK.

MoU exchange between UK-VN HEP network, British Council and VIS

Before, during a working session at the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK, Associate Professor Huynh Quyet Thang, representing the UK-Vietnam Higher Education Network (UK-VN HEP), signed a tripartite cooperation agreement with the British Council and the Vietnamese Intellectual Society in the UK and Ireland (VIS). This agreement focuses on continued collaboration in capacity building for Vietnam's early career researchers and doctoral training through Project 89. The event garnered representation from Global Wales and local universities in Wales, showcasing the launch of the Global Wales cooperation initiative and strengthening the partnership between Vietnam and Wales in the field of education.
