It is such an interesting coincidence that the year 2021 marked the 65th anniversary of Hanoi University of Science and Technology, which was also the year of celebration for the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Germany Strategic Partnership (2011-2021).
Since its first days of foundation, HUST has been always regarding Germany as a close partner and friend. The establishment of the Vietnamese-German Center at HUST in 1991, followed by the placement of the DAAD Regional Office Hanoi within HUST campus in 2003 was an obvious proof for this close relationship. DAAD truly became a close friend of HUST who has always actively supported HUST in developing cooperation with academic partners of Germany. A numerous cooperation projects in training, research and student/faculty exchange was held at HUST that deepened the relationship between the two countries Vietnam-Germany in general, and between HUST and many German partners in particular.
The success of two joint training cooperation programs with German universities, namely the MBA program with the University of Leipzig and the Bachelor program in Mechatronics with Leibniz University Hannover, is also evidence to this long-standing partnership. After a long historic collaboration of nearly 20 years with Leipzig University, at present, there are 14 cohorts of students in total graduated from the joint SEPT Business Administration Program with Leipzig University.
During these years, the collaboration activities actually become more diverse and make greater impact to the public. In April 2020, a traveling exhibition on Energy Transition, along with a series of panel discussions on different aspects of the same topic were successfully co-organized by HUST, the German Embassy Hanoi and the GIZ Office Hanoi.
It is our great honor to receive the warm congratulations from Dr. Guido Hildner - Mr. H.E. Ambassador of German Embassy Hanoi; Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee - President of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD); Mr. Stefan Hase-Bergen, Director of DAAD Regional Office Hanoi; and Dr. Utz Dornberger- Director of International SEPT Program of University of Leipzig to HUST on its 65th anniversary. HUST would like to express our heartfelt thanks to our close partners from Germany for your kind messages, as well as their continuous support and significant contribution to HUST’s development. We look forward to many more years of collaboration with Germany.
