HUST welcomed the visit by Ministry of Education - Taiwan

On December 19th, 2019, Hanoi University of Science and Technology had the opportunity to meet with representatives from The Ministry of Education, Taiwan and more than 30 delegates from Taiwanese universities and companies at HUST’s campus.

Within the scope of cooperation on education and training between Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam and Ministry of Education - Taiwan, the mission led by Deputy Minister of Education of Taiwan, Mon Chi Lio, was present in HUST’s campus to meet and initiate cooperation with the university.

Assoc. Prof. Hoang Minh Son, President of HUST, and Assoc. Prof. Huynh Quyet Thang, Vice President of HUST, together with other leaders from university institutes and offices, expressed happiness and honor to welcome the visit of the Taiwanese mission to HUST. He sincerely hoped that both parties can further cooperate in areas including student and staff exchange and research on different fields, especially on science and technology.

Dr. Bui Thi Ngoc Thuy, Deputy Head of External Affairs Office, delivered the presentation about HUST. She proudly announced the increase in HUST’s rankings this year according to THE rankings and updated new collaborations with other countries in the field of education. She hoped that this meeting will be a base for stronger cooperation between HUST and other educational organizations in Taiwan in the near future.

 

Deputy Minister Mon Chi Lio and Assoc. Prof. Hoang Minh Son exchanged gifts 

Both sides shared the view that greater partnership should be developed. Deputy Minister Mon Chi Lio acknowledged HUST’s high qualities on education and research areas. He said: We are very happy to meet one of the best Vietnamese university on science and technology. We really hope we can encourage more students to come to Taiwan, especially PhD candidates. In fact, we will consider giving scholarships for HUST students who apply for PhD positions.

The meeting ended in a warm and friendly atmosphere with the establishment of a steady and long-standing relationship.
