HUST Hosts Sekisho Job Fair 2024, Connecting Students with Japanese Recruiters
On November 2, the Sekisho Job Fair 2024 was held at Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), featuring 22 companies from Japan and 3 Japanese companies based in Vietnam. This annual event connects the university and students with businesses, providing hundreds of job opportunities from both domestic and international companies.

Now in its 11th year at HUST, the Sekisho Job Fair allows seniors to connect with recruiters and secure job offers for post-graduation. Meanwhile, underclassmen gain valuable interview experience and learn about Japanese companies’ standards, from technical expertise to soft skills, helping them clarify their future career paths.

Ngo Duong Phuong, a senior from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, attended this year’s event with friends to explore the job market, discover career options, and participate in company-led activities. "I hope talking with recruiters will help me map out my career path," Phuong shared.

For Pham Minh Son, a junior in Computer Science at the School of Information and Communication Technology, the event is a great chance to get real-world experience with top Japanese companies. “I’ve looked into IT companies in my field, checking everything from starting salaries to applicant requirements,” Son said.

The Japanese companies participating in the Sekisho Job Fair 2024 affirmed the high quality of education at HUST and aimed to recruit many skilled graduates, offering attractive salaries, multinational work opportunities, and special programs.

Sekisui Minakuchi Kako Co., Ltd. (Japan), a familiar presence at the fair, returned for the fourth time, seeking candidates passionate about machinery operations and maintenance. Mr. Yoshida, a company representative, stated, “We highly value the talent of HUST students. Over the years, I’ve seen significant improvement in their quality, which now matches that of Japanese students. Many alumni from your university currently work with us and excel.”

Also participating for the first time, Ayaha Corporation expressed excitement about engaging with HUST students. Mr. Morita, Head of the Information Systems Department, noted, “In addition to technical skills and Japanese proficiency, we seek individuals who are open-minded, proactive, eager to learn, and ready to face challenges. Students of HUST have a lot of potential.”

Ultimately, the Sekisho Job Fair 2024 reinforced its status as a vital recruitment platform for HUST students, bridging the gap between academia and industry while promoting professional growth.
