HUST cooperated with a worldwide renowned company for semiconductor and related fields

Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) and Infineon Technologies signed an MoU ceremony this morning to foster development and engineering addressing decarbonization and digitalization in the area of Light Electric Vehicle (LEV) and Internet of Things (IoT).

Infineon and HUST will jointly define projects and develop solutions of industrial relevance; as well as cooperate to organize open seminars in areas of mutual interest, enhance the electronics engineering curriculum and nurture future electronics engineers.

Under the MoU, HUST will incorporate Infineon products and information into the academic course plan and teaching materials while Infineon may provide product and technical training to teaching personnel and students in order to foster knowledge sharing and talent development.

Speaking on the occasion, Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering shared: “As the first and largest research and academic institution in Vietnam on the areas of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, I am very glad to sign the MoU with Infineon today."

Infineon is a worldwide renowned company for semiconductors and related fields. By utilizing the strength of both sides, this collaboration will create opportunities in terms of research, academic and human resource development for the company, the university as well as young engineers and researchers.

Francis Foo, Vice President, Power & Sensor Systems Business from Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific in Singapore said, “I am personally excited about the collaboration between Infineon and HUST, the top university in Vietnam for Engineering and Technology, to address relevant, real-world challenges with practical solutions for Vietnam. Our cooperation will contribute towards generations of highly competent engineers.”

Infineon’s campus connect initiative paves the way for research and industry interactions leveraging the university’s outstanding personnel competency and Infineon’s extensive experience in the semiconductor industry to collaborate in joint projects, internship opportunities at Infineon, and knowledge sharing through seminars, academic courses and technical training.   

Before that, the two sides cooperated in the electrical-electronic field. In particular, the company organized recruitment fairs and provided some components for the University. Besides, HUST also created abundant high-quality human resources for the company.

This was a solid foundation that brought the two sides to the signing ceremony of this first MOU.

The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology is one of the largest research and academic institution in Vietnam in the areas of Electrical and Electronic engineering. The school currently offers 13 undergraduate, and 22 graduate academic programs for more than 8000 students. It has 16 research laboratories covering a wide range of research topics, such as Power Electronics, IC Design and Embedded Systems, Communication Engineering, Automation and Control, Future Energy and Smart Grid.
